KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON !

The whole civilisation is going through a very difficult phase but even in these unprecedent times the pursuit to not only survive but also to thrive by us is still going on.

This session by the experienced Redhatters was an example of effort by the human beings to thrive even in these “Dark” times and the way of “KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON”.

The session’s main motto was to learn about the industrial practices that are adopted by the various enterprises to achieve agility. The need of Automation is the need of the hour as “Automation occurs when Human being encounters a problem that they don’t want solve again and again”

The Technical part included a precise demo of How enterprises are using Ansible Tower to scale. Through practical demonstration we performed various tasks in Ansible Tower like:-

1. Deploying an RHEL instance using Ansible with Amazon AWS as the cloud provider.
2. Uses of Template in Ansible Tower to discover the playbooks.
3. Integration of Ansible Tower with Enterprise notification tools like Slack.
4. Uses of Workflow Visualisers and working of a workflow engine.
5. Deploying an CentOS instance in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
6. Scheduling a job Template in Ansible Tower.

As an RH294 trainee it was a wow moment to see the various contrasts between the Ansible Engine and and Ansible Tower and how the enterprise use of Ansible Tower has taken Ansible to a next level and made life for the industry so easy and efficient.

Takeaway from the Session:-

The session presented a clear view of working of an enterprise and as a learner if the session can be summarised in one sentence it would be:-

“If you want to work in an Enterprise, You have got to learn how an enterprise works.”
